RULES AND REGULATIONS

LOCATION
Baytown Youth Fair Grounds 7900 N. Main (approx. 2 miles north of I-10 East)

RULES
The Baytown BBQ committee or Baytown Youth Fair and Livestock Association are not responsible for any accidents, thefts, or damages.

Entry fee will be $100 for one or all categories:
Beans
Brisket
Chicken
Pork Ribs
Fajitas (Beef or Chicken or Both)
Margaritas
Chili

Each team will be allocated at least a 40' x 40' space.  All the teams' property must be confined to their allocated space.  Only one motor home will be allowed in each space.  You will be asked to move anything that is not in your space.

Contestants will supply all needed equipment and supplies.  The BBQ committee will only supply space and turn-in containers.

All contestants can start moving in at 7:00 AM on Friday, May 2nd.  You must use area assigned to your team.

There will be a Head Cooks meeting at 9:30 AM Saturday.  All Head cooks or a representative from each team MUST be present.

No Pets will be allowed!

All loud music is to be shutdown at Midnight.


COOKING

MEAT
Meat inspection will be Friday on request and be complete by 8 PM.  Each team will be allowed to tag 2 briskets, 2 chickens, and 2 slabs of ribs.  All meat must be tagged before cooking starts.

All contest meat must be cooked in contestant area.  The tag shouldn't be removed under and circumstances nor shall meat be cut until a committee member is present.  Only meat from one tagged piece of meat can be turned in.  IF THIS RULE IS NOT FOLLOWED, YOUR TEAM WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IMMEDIATELY.

CHICKEN
Turn in half a chicken for presentation, and the other half cut into bite size pieces for tasting.

FAJITAS
You may turn in Beef or Chicken or Both.

BEANS
Pinto only with no garnish

CHILI
NO BEANS
Must be made from scratch.  (No canned chili)

MARGARITAS
Turn in 24 ounces


JUDGING

No one will be allowed in the building during judging.

 Five finalists will be selected from each category.  The top four will receive trophies.

There will be a most congeniality trophy given it will be voted on by the teams. (This will be explained at the cooks meeting).

Decisions of the BBQ committee chairman and Judges are final.


TEXAS HOLD 'EM TOURNAMENT FRIDAY NIGHT

(Game will start around 7:30 p.m. Tournament will be run by TCPL)
$20 DONATION -GIFT CARDS will be given to top finishers.


DANCE

A Dance will be held Saturday, May 3rd. 9 pm - 1 am with admission being $5 person, children under 12 free.  Each team will receive three tickets. You may bring your own ice chest into the dance.


AWARDS

All awards will be given out at 12 Noon Sunday May 4th.


MOVEOUT

No one will be allowed to move out until Sunday.
